Note

[Musik für Klavier] is an untitled work for piano in 3 movements. In the years 1957 to 1958, just prior to Rausch’s Emigration to the United States, the composer tried his hand at writing works influenced by the New Viennese School. Though this work may not be a serial composition, the fact that the first bar of the work uses all 12-tones shows he was making a conscious effort to circulate tones evenly. Like much of Rausch’s mature piano writing, this work is awash with colorful, splashy gestures.
